WORKSHOP ON PARKS AND URBAN OPEN SPACES UNDER RUSA 2.0 INITIATIVE

Under the RUSA 2.0 initiative, the Centre for Urban Economic Studies, Calcutta University has done a study on parks in Kolkata Municipal Corporation Area. This study was based on the Parks Data collected by CCC in 2011, confirmed by Borough Chairpersons in 2014. Dr. Mahalaya Chatterjee and her students and colleagues together presented the findings of this study. CCC was represented by Ms. Mallika Jalan.

WORKSHOP on CSR Management for the Corporates

In its Programme on Capacity Building for Corporates and NGOs in CSR Project Management, CCC organized with, and was the Knowledge Partner of The Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCC&I) for this Workshop for the Corporates. The Inaugural address was given by Shri Pradeep Chopra, Chairman of PS Group, and Chairman – iLEAD Institute for Media and Management Studies, Kolkata. He spoke on the subject of, The Business Case for CSR. The Morning Session on Corporates and CSR Compliance was conducted by Mr. Nikhil Pant, National Foundation of CSR, IICA, GOI. Post-lunch Session on the Project Management Cycle and Mapping the Gap was conducted by Mr. Rohan Sharma of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS), Mumbai.

The feedback received is very encouraging and this is the beginning of many more such capacity building programmes by CCC and its Partners.

WORKSHOP ON “CSR CONVERGENCE MEET”

CCC partnered with iLEAD (Institute of Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Development) and MHDS (Murshidabad Heritage Development Society) in organizing this Meet at The Palladian Lounge, BCCI Building, Kolkata.

Keynote Presentation was made by Mr. Nikhil Pant, National Foundation for CSR (NFCSR), from Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), Ministry of Corporate Affairs, GOI. He spoke about CSR Law, Rules and Compliance. He stressed upon the importance of strategic partnerships between NGOs and Corporates. 10 NGOs from West Bengal state presented their work and funding requirement to leading Corporate Houses in the audience. This was followed by Networking Dinner​

CCC partnered with NBIRT and BESU on a Workshop “Roof-top and Small Solar P V Power Plants

November 2010

Renewable Energy School, NBIRT and Bengal Engineering Science University (BESU) in association with Centre for Contemporary Communication ( CCC ) jointly organized a two-days Workshop on “Roof-top and Small Solar P V Power Plants on 27-28 November, 2010 at Hyatt Regency, Kolkata.
The Workshop included presentations and Film-show on Solar Installations by well-known Manufacturers, in addition to addresses by Senior Representatives of MNRE, Govt of India and Govt of West Bengal.

On the First day the First Session was on the Technical aspects of the Subject and the Second Session dealt with Finance and Funding options. On the Second day there were Field Trips to show the Installed Solar Plants.

19 Educational Institutions with whom the Centre is working on a regular basis participated as a contingent brought to the Workshop by the Centre.

Briefing Session on Solar Plant Installation at Rotary Sadan – 16th September, 2010

CCC – with support from West Bengal Green Energy Development Corporation Limited (WBGEDCL), a Government of West Bengal undertaking – organized a Briefing Session on the 16th September, 2010, with the heads of some Educational Institutions ( selected Schools, Colleges and Business Schools) on Installation of Solar energy generation facility in Educational Institutions.
